George R. Vaughn, Founder
George Vaughn founded Vaughn Associates in 1995 with a vision to provide emerging businesses with the necessary foundation to scale finance and administration activities as operations and revenues ramped up. Having directed the growth of venture-backed technology companies on Initial Public Offering and Merger/Acquisition tracks, he recognized that establishing a solid foundation for rapid growth businesses was essential to a successful exit strategy for both founders and investors.
George has assumed senior level management responsibilities, principally in the role of chief financial officer, to companies in technology, life sciences, services and manufacturing industries. He has negotiated and closed multiple rounds of private equity and debt financings as well as initial and follow-on public offerings of stock.
Previously, George was Chief Financial Officer at XRL, Inc. a venture capital-backed technology company in the semiconductor equipment business. Mr. Vaughn was instrumental in negotiations for the acquisition of the company by its primary competitor. George was also the Corporate Controller and Principal Accounting Officer at Interleaf, Inc., a pioneer software developer of desktop publishing solutions that emerged out of the research and development stage to complete a highly successful initial public offering during his tenure. George began his professional career at Ernst & Young where his executive level responsibilities focused on both privately-held as well as publicly-held enterprises.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and is on the Board of Directors of the Cape Cod Technology Council.
A cum laude graduate of Stonehill College, he resides in Braintree, Massachusetts with his wife and three children.
